Let's go on a QUEST together and create our own rules and game pieces. You will ORDER a Camp Half Blood shirt we will all wear during our time together. Let us use our imagination in making our own bracelets, eat BLUE snacks/treats (Percy's favorite color), build your own shield for capture the flag activities, and use air clay to create game board pieces for the awesome game board you will create so we all can play. The last day we will do a simple Reader's Theater where they will perform for a few other classes, all week getting the props/backdrops ready to go for it.

Clay, Clay, Clay!! There are sooo many ways to create with clay - making it the most versitile material in the art room. In this course artists will get a chance to explore a variety of different clay mediums such as: air dry clay, modeling clay, paper clay, model magic, and more. All projects will use a variety of handbuilding techniques to create three dimensional masterpieces challenging skills and creativity to max. Let's get those hands dirty and dig into clay together!

Do you want to experiment with creating your own music? This class will give you the chance to make your own beat patterns, melodies, and put it all together. We’ll start by exploring what makes us want to listen to a song again and again, from classical to pop music. We’ll look at the idea behind the music, the form, and how the composer used sound to let their idea shine through. We’ll experiment with telling a story through our own music, using hand instruments and keyboard instruments to help us work out the pitches and rhythms. There will be something for everyone, whether it’s fun bursts of making music in teams, playing music games, or beginning to understand the music theory behind the music we love, and creating our own music.

Students will learn about investigative techniques used to catch criminals through hands-on activities and case studies. Each day will focus on a different aspect of Forensic science, its practical use, and an example of how that technique was used in an actual criminal case.

Calling all foodies! Are you an adventurous eater? Do you like to try new recipes? This is the class for you! Each day we’ll cook new foods and learn new cooking techniques, and of course we’ll taste test! At the end of the week chefs will take home a cookbook with all the recipes we’ve made throughout the week. Calling all future biologists, scientists, and healthcare innovators! Have you ever wondered why your body makes strange noises, develops bumps or rashes, or sometimes smells a little… surprising? In this fascinating science course, students dive into the mysteries of the human body to uncover how and why these things happen. From digestion and tummy aches to skin, senses, and systems, learners explore how our bodies work beneath the surface—and why, despite our differences, human bodies follow many of the same incredible rules. Using inquiry, discussion, and age-appropriate science investigations, students learn to think like real scientists as they replace “gross” with understanding. Have you been wanting to learn to play the guitar? Do you have a bit of guitar knowledge and want to level up your skills? In Guitar Fun-damentals, we will learn the basic chords that can get you started playing a song you love. Through learning to tune a guitar, chord practice, and new strumming patterns, you will have the skills to continue learning new songs and develop the technique of playing guitar. Guitars are provided, but you may bring your own to learn on if desired.

Calling all travel lovers! Geysers, volcanoes, and oceans, you name it! In this class we will take a journey through various National Parks! Students will learn about basic facts, history, wildlife, and snapshots of how amazing our national parks are! Students will do fun art projects, awesome research activities, watch cool documentaries, and even learn how to become a park ranger! You don’t want to miss this exciting class!

From the fierce Minotaur and mighty Thor to clever Athena, powerful Ra, and the flying Pegasus, this class dives into legendary stories packed with adventure, magic, and mystery. In this hands-on class, students will explore exciting myths from Greek, Egyptian, and Norse cultures, discovering brave heroes, tricky gods, and unbelievable creatures. We won’t just read myths—we’ll create them! Students will sculpt their own mythical creature using Model Magic, decorate ancient-style pottery, design a mythology-inspired game, create a dog tag or necklace, and make an Egyptian-style name tag. The adventure continues as students take part in a scavenger hunt and riddle-filled challenge, navigating a labyrinth like Theseus, solving clues, and completing heroic tasks inspired by ancient myths. The scavenger hunt ends with a heroic snack, fit for a champion who has completed a noble quest. Fact fluency is important because it forms the building blocks for higher-level math concepts. When a child masters their math facts, these concepts will be significantly easier and the student will be better equipped to solve them faster.
