You will ORDER a Camp Half Blood shirt we will all wear during our time together. Let us use our imagination in making our own bracelets, eat BLUE snacks/treats (Percy's favorite color), build your own shield for capture the flag activities, and use air clay to create game board pieces for the awesome game board you will create so we all can play. Creative Composers - Gr. 3-8Northwest Talent AcademyDo you want to experiment with creating your own music? This class will give you the chance to make your own beat patterns, melodies, and put it all together. We’ll start by exploring what makes us want to listen to a song again and again, from classical to pop music. We’ll look at the idea behind the music, the form, and how the composer used sound to let their idea shine through. We’ll experiment with telling a story through our own music, using hand instruments and keyboard instruments to help us work out the pitches and rhythms. Welcome to the thrilling world of MYTHS! From the fierce Minotaur and mighty Thor to clever Athena, powerful Ra, and the flying Pegasus, this class dives into legendary stories packed with adventure, magic, and mystery. In this hands-on class, students will explore exciting myths from Greek, Egyptian, and Norse cultures, discovering brave heroes, tricky gods, and unbelievable creatures. We won’t just read myths—we’ll create them! Students will sculpt their own mythical creature using Model Magic, decorate ancient-style pottery, design a mythology-inspired game, create a dog tag or necklace, and make an Egyptian-style name tag. The adventure continues as students take part in a scavenger hunt and riddle-filled challenge, navigating a labyrinth like Theseus, solving clues, and completing heroic tasks inspired by ancient myths. Come practice your multiplication fact fluency in a high energy, game focused class. Fact fluency is important because it forms the building blocks for higher-level math concepts. When a child masters their math facts, these concepts will be significantly easier and the student will be better equipped to solve them faster. But, why sit with worksheets when you can practice with friends? You’ll leave this class ready to take on your family and friends in games that will help you prepare for next year’s math challenges, but more importantly, won’t leave you needing a nap.
