Beginner Level TrapshootingRecreationBeginner level trapshooting. For Students currently enrolled in Monticello schools, grades 7 & 8th. This course will cover: basic safety & technique, trap rules, scoring & etiquette. No experience necessary. Held at the Monticello Sportsmans Club, 7959 State Hwy 25 NE, Monticello, MN. Tuesdays at 6pm from April 28nd to May 26th. The cost will be $175. This will include instruction, trap rounds and 12 gauge ammo. Students must use program supplied ammo. Students will need to provide a 12 gauge shotgun that fits them. Closed toe shoes (no Croc’s), eye protection, ear protection and a trap pouch or vest. Come dressed for the weather, this is an outdoor class. Students must have a firearm safety certificate from the DNR prior to signing up. Bring your safety certificate to the 1st night.Summer 2026 -

The material is presented in fun and exciting formats to keep the child interested and excited while teaching them important physical and behavioral skills to develop good habits early in life. Girls Flag FootballRecreationMonticello girls flag football is back for a second season, and registration is officially open for grades 7–12! The Minnesota Vikings have selected several teams across the entire state to sponsor—and Monticello is proudly one of them. Energy is building nationwide as the NFL pushes toward the 2028 Olympics, where Women’s Flag Football will debut as an official Olympic sport. This is the moment to jump in! The season is built for multi‑sport athletes, making it easy to play flag football alongside another spring sport. Practice times will be flexible so players can compete, train, and while honoring their other commitments. Pre-School/Kindergarden T-Ball - Ages 4 & 5RecreationPre-School T-Ball--Ages 4 & 5 This 5-week activity will introduce preschoolers (must be 4 by June 1) to the game of T-ball and baseball using nerf bats and soft incrediballs. Games will rotate each week between 6 p.m. & 7 p.m. Each game will last approximately 50 minutes. Parent or adult volunteers will be needed to head coach and assistant coach this program. Parents are highly encourage to help coach your child's team. Players need to bring a glove, all other equipment will be provided. Price Includes a digital team picture and a digital individual picture from Hines Photography. ZEBCO School of Fish: Fishing Intro ClassRecreationThe ZEBCO School of Fish is a 2 1/2-hour youth and beginners fishing class open to kids (and adults!) from grades 1 and up taught by pro angler and Fishing the Midwest TV show host Mike Frisch. Students learn about lakes, finding fishing those lakes during, and some great ways to catch them. They also learn to tie a fishing knot and rig and use a slip-bobber setup. Included with registration: *ZEBCO Rod & Reel *School of Fish Hat or T-shirt *Tackle box and tackle *School of Fish full color workbook *One adult is invited to attend with a child at no additional charge, provided they share one equipment packet. **Most importantly, however, graduates leave class with the knowledge, skills, and equipment to go fishing! **Kids grades 1-4 are asked to be accompanied by one adult at no additional charge, providing they share one equipment package.
