Horseback Riding Day Camp, Ages 6-15EnrichmentBoulder Pointe Equestrian Camps are on rain or shine! There is an outdoor and indoor arena. Proper attire includes a sneaker or boot (closed toe with a heel), long pants and layers depending on the weather. Bug spray, sunscreen, nut-free snacks and a water bottle are also recommended. Please bring a nut-free bagged lunch and plenty of fluids to drink. ASTM/SEI certified helmets are provided. Signed waivers are required before riding. Riding Day Camp (Ages 6-15)TIME: PARENT Drop-off is at 9am and PARENT pickup is 3pm. Sorry we do not allow parentsto stay for the day.WHAT TO EXPECT:Kids will learn what it's like to have a horse for a day! Campers get to ride in the indoor and/oroutdoor arenas for 40min-50min (no trails), practice how to steer, stop, turn, and walk on theirown. Monticello Community StringsEnrichmentLooking for a fun orchestra to play with during the summer? The Monticello Community Strings Orchestra will meet once a week on Tuesday evenings* at the Monticello High School Orchestra/Band Room, beginning June 9. There are two different groups to choose from: Concert Orchestra (at least 1-3 years of experience needed) will meet from 6-7:15 p.m.; Symphony Orchestra (at least 4 years experience or more recommended) from 7:30-9 p.m. Symphony Orchestra players are welcome to play with the Concert Orchestra as mentors for no additional charge. An evening concert on Thursday, July 23 in the Monticello High School Auditorium will complete the season. Michelle Schettler-Stein & Rachel Vannett will conduct and lead the sessions. WaitlistMonticello High School Fishing Team Gr. 7-12RecreationMonticello High School Fishing Team Gr. 7-12 This all-encompassing fishing program will balance classroom education and technique development with a boatload of time on the water in boats. Our focus with this team will include multi-species education as well as an option to focus on bass tournament fishing only. We'll also be focusing on boater safety/etiquette and utilizing proper equipment to aid in success all while teaching our young anglers how to become stewards of the industry. The Monticello Fishing Team is a fishing club that is associated with the school. We are NOT a MN state sanctioned sport. The team is run by volunteers who love fishing and enjoy helping kids learn about fishing and getting kids on the water. We try to provide community boat captains each week but to guarantee your student a spot in a boat each week, it is highly encouraged that they bring a boat captain or are teammates with someone who's bringing a boat captain. Student anglers will receive a rod & reel combo, jersey, t-shirt and tons of fishing gear! Entry fee is $200 with a $100 refundable volunteer fee. $100 will be refunded onto your credit card once you have completed 2 hours of team volunteer hours. 6th graders are allowed to register IF they are bringing a boat and a boat captain each week. All team members, grades 9-12 will be eligible for the state wide SATT bass tournaments throughout the Summer. Registration deadline is March 1st so we can get jerseys ordered. Pre-School/Kindergarten T-Ball - Ages 4 & 5RecreationPre-School T-Ball--Ages 4 & 5 This 5-week activity will introduce preschoolers (must be 4 by June 1) to the game of T-ball and baseball using nerf bats and soft incrediballs. Games will rotate each week between 6 p.m. & 7 p.m. Each game will last approximately 50 minutes. Parent or adult volunteers will be needed to head coach and assistant coach this program. Parents are highly encourage to help coach your child's team. Players need to bring a glove, all other equipment will be provided. ZEBCO School of Fish: Fishing Intro ClassRecreationThe ZEBCO School of Fish is a 2 1/2-hour youth and beginners fishing class open to kids (and adults!) from grades 1 and up taught by pro angler and Fishing the Midwest TV show host Mike Frisch. Students learn about lakes, finding fishing those lakes during, and some great ways to catch them. They also learn to tie a fishing knot and rig and use a slip-bobber setup.
