Performances: 3 times each academic year (Early December, March, and May) Magichor: Monticello Middle School’s Before-School Vocal Ensemble Magichor is an extracurricular vocal ensemble designed for singers who are eager to expand their musical skills beyond the traditional choir classroom. Meeting twice weekly on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 7:30–8:00 a.m., Magichor provides students with a unique opportunity to engage in a focused, collaborative, and rewarding choral experience. All are welcome, regardless of previous singing experience! Whether you are a beginner looking to try choir for the first time or an experienced vocalist wanting to grow, this group is for you. Registration is $49 for the year. Through the study of small-group and chamber-style singing, students will develop greater musical independence, strengthen their vocal technique, improve music literacy skills, and gain confidence as performers and leaders. Rehearsals will emphasize artistry, teamwork, and musical excellence while encouraging students to take ownership of their individual contributions to the ensemble. Magichor will also serve as a bridge across Monticello Middle School’s music community, creating opportunities for collaboration with other music ensembles and fostering meaningful connections among students who share a passion for music-making. Performances throughout the school year will showcase the ensemble’s growth and provide additional opportunities to represent Monticello Middle School both within the school community and beyond. At its heart, Magichor is about more than singing. It is an opportunity for students to challenge themselves, build lasting friendships, develop leadership skills, and experience the joy that comes from creating exceptional music together. By providing an engaging ensemble experience, Magichor will enrich our music program, strengthen school culture, and further establish Monticello Middle School as a place where students are encouraged to pursue excellence, creativity, and collaboration. Middle School Spanish Prep: A Foundation Course! (Live Virtual) In this engaging LIVE virtual eight-week class, middle school students will learn essential fundamentals to build a strong base in the Spanish language. Participants will get a jump start preparing for future middle school or even traditional high-school Spanish classes.Numbers, alphabet and pronunciation, days of the week, family members, and school vocabulary are just a few of the topics covered! Students will also practice common questions and answers for carrying on small conversations and sentence structure in Spanish. Lessons are dynamic with interactive activities and visuals, along with cultural lessons. Build your student’s language foundation – enroll today! 2-day Clinic:Monticello Youth Wrestling Club is offering a 2-day Clinic to introduce wrestling to new wrestlers. Kids will learn basic moves and learn what wrestling is all about. Monday November 16th and 23rd at the High School from 6:00-7:30 PM in the High School wrestling roomExperienced Wrestling: For kids who have completed 3 years of wrestling Typically grades 3-6First night of practice will be Monday, November 9th at the High School. Starting November 10th practice will be every Tuesday and Thursday from 7:00 - 8:30 PM and will run through March 11th. All practices will be held in the High School wrestling room. The Monday practices listed below will run from 6:00 - 7:30 PM.Monday practices in January will be the 4th, 11th, 25th. Monday practices in February will be the 1st, 8th, and 22nd. Monday practices in March will be the 1st and 8thBeginner Wrestling: For wrestlers with less than 3 years of wrestling experience. Typically grades pre-K through grade 2.Start date December 1st at the High School. This class will run on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 - 6:55 PM with the final night of practice being on February 9th.
