Middle School Spring Musical - The Wizard of OzMiddle School After School Programsmonticello Middle School will be presenting their annual musical this Spring in the form of the 20th century classic, The Wizard of Oz. Follow the story of Dorothy, a Kansas farm girl swept away by a tornado to the magical Land of Oz with her dog, Toto, where she must follow the Yellow Brick Road to the Emerald City to find the Wizard who can send her home. Along the way, she befriends a Scarecrow, a Tinman, and a Cowardly Lion, all while facing threats from the Wicked Witch of the West. Monti Magic Preschool helps prepare students for a K-12 education in a fun, enriching, and engaging environment! Children must be three or four years old by September 1 of the current school year. Nature-Based Preschool at Bertram Chain of Lakes Regional Park Students (4 years of age by Sept. 1) in the nature-based preschool class are in an outdoor immersive setting and will be outside every day unless the weather is dangerous. Nature-based preschool achieves the same outcomes as a traditional Monti Magic Preschool class, only natural materials are the learning tool with the great outdoors for a classroom. Students spend minimal time inside each day but do have a designated indoor classroom should the weather be unsuitable for outdoor learning. Monticello Community StringsEnrichmentLooking for a fun orchestra to play with during the summer? The Monticello Community Strings Orchestra will meet once a week on Tuesday evenings* at the Monticello High School Orchestra/Band Room, beginning June 9. There are two different groups to choose from: Concert Orchestra (at least 1-3 years of experience needed) will meet from 6-7:15 p.m.; Symphony Orchestra (at least 4 years experience or more recommended) from 7:30-9 p.m. Symphony Orchestra players are welcome to play with the Concert Orchestra as mentors for no additional charge. An evening concert on Thursday, July 23 in the Monticello High School Auditorium will complete the season. Michelle Schettler-Stein & Rachel Vannett will conduct and lead the sessions. My Little Horse Day Camp for Ages 2-5 with ParentEnrichmentBoulder Pointe Equestrian Enjoy the excitement of horseback riding camp! Come ride and learn about horses. Lessons include learning how to work with horse and learn balance and control in the saddle. In addition, campers get to learn how to groom, tack-up, lead and do in-hand work with horses. There is also fun horse related activities. Camps are on rain or shine! There is an outdoor and indoor arena. Proper attire includes a sneaker or boot (closed toe with a heel), long pants and layers depending on the weather. Bug spray, sunscreen, nut-free snacks and a water bottle are also recommended. Please bring a nut-free bagged lunch and plenty of fluids to drink. ASTM/SEI certified helmets are provided. Signed waivers are required before riding. My Little Horse Day Camp for Ages 2-5 with Parent WHAT TO EXPECT:Campers will get to ride a real horse in an arena, meet a number of our different horses atBoulder Pointe and learn about how to groom the horses...all with a focus on safety! In addition,students will do an art project and have an opportunity to make horse treats to feed their newfriends. Stations are split into 15 minute intervals to keep everyone engaged.
