Emergency Childcare

The school-age care for children of critical workers is intended for extreme circumstances in which no parent or guardian is at home, due to employment as a critical worker.

Children of Tier I workers only will be cared for at no cost during the typical school hours. The Tier I list of eligible children is below:

  • Healthcare and public health
  • Law enforcement, public safety and first responders
  • Food and agriculture
  • Judicial Branch (essential services)
  • National Guard (activated under a Governor Executive Order)
  • Educators in pre-K through grade 12 settings
  • School staff caring for children of critical workers
  • Child care and school-age care providers

Tier I: for more details on what is included in each sector listed below, view Appendix A

Non Tier 1 critical workers will be accepted as space is available. The cost is $36 per day per child. Starting December 1, we will offer a sliding fee scale for free and reduced families who are in the non-tier 1 category. If you've not filled out the paperwork for free and reduced lunch, income verification is needed. Please reach out to the Program Coordinator directly for questions.

Care is provided to Pinewood & Little Mountain students only. You may reach out directly to Andrea Greenwald to inquire about availability (andrea.greenwald@monticello.k12.mn.us).
